What GoodVibes does with your posts

To decide what to hide, GoodVibes sends the text of each post out of your browser to be read. That is the whole job. This page says what goes out, where it goes, and what is kept.

What leaves your browser

• The text of posts as they load on the sites you turned on: X, Reddit, YouTube comments, LinkedIn and Hacker News. Each post is cut to 2,000 characters.
• The topics you have on. For a topic you wrote, that is the sentence you typed.
• An anonymous install token. The extension gets it the first time it runs. It is a random ID, and it is not connected to a name, an email or an account, because GoodVibes has no accounts.

Nothing else goes out. No usernames, no links, no images, no cookies, no browsing history, no who-you-are.

Where it goes

On the free plan, the text goes to the GoodVibes server at api.goodvibes.tools, which runs on Cloudflare. The server passes the text to TypeSafe, whose Jev classifier returns a score for each topic. That covers 500 posts a day.

With your own TypeSafe key saved in settings, the text goes straight from your browser to TypeSafe. The GoodVibes server is out of the loop and never sees it. TypeSafe's own privacy policy applies to what it receives.

What the server keeps, and for how long

• The words are not stored. The server keeps a fingerprint (a hash) of the text and the scores, for 7 days, so the same post is never sent twice. A fingerprint cannot be turned back into the post.
• A count of how many posts your install token used today. It resets at midnight UTC and is deleted two days after your last use.
• Your IP address is used for a moment to limit how fast new install tokens are issued. It is not saved with your token or your posts.

What GoodVibes does not do

• GoodVibes does not train anything on your posts.
• GoodVibes does not sell data, and does not share it for ads or for any purpose other than scoring posts against your topics.
• This website has no analytics scripts and sets no cookies.

What stays on your computer

Your topics, your settings, your daily usage counts, your own TypeSafe key if you saved one, and a local cache of recent answers all stay in Chrome's extension storage on your computer.

How to turn it off or delete it

• Turn GoodVibes off for one site, or for everything, from the GoodVibes panel. Nothing is sent while it is off.
• Remove the extension and Chrome deletes everything it stored on your computer.
• The server holds nothing that identifies you, so there is no account to delete. Fingerprints expire after 7 days on their own.
